The Art of Resilience...

I’ve been thinking a lot about resilience lately—partly because I’m moderating a panel this Friday for the Hellenic Heritage Foundation on The Art of Resilience, and partly because… well, life.

When I break resilience down, I see three components:

  • the difficulty (the wave that hits)

  • the reaction (how you resist, endure, or adapt)

  • the aftermath (what you do with the experience)

Most people focus on the reaction: how to carry more, stress less, stay calm. Some focus on the recovery: how to bounce back faster.

But I’ve been thinking more about how we bounce forward.

If we assume for a moment that “life happens for us,” then every wave has something for us. Each fire leaves a draft under our wings.
Is that true? I can’t say for sure. But I’ve noticed: the more I believe it, the more true it becomes.

So, what does The Art of Resilience mean to you?
