not liking your job? π Here's a secret...
I talk to a lot of people who are unhappy with their job, but it feels too good to leave. They're often paid too well. This is NOT golden handcuffs (where they can't afford to leave), these people often can afford to leave - it just feels stupid. Who can give up that sort of the money without assurances they're making the right choice? But it's hard to truly get assurances in life.
π¬
So they sit there stuck trying to figure out there way forward.
Often, they sit in that space a long time, slowly getting more and more bone-weary. But their job affords them a lot of parts of their life they really like (usually some combination of money and time-flexibility (or both)).
But they're not happy.
And some part of them tells them that a different job will make them happy.
The truth:
- Wherever you go, that's where you are.
We have patterns of thinking, of behaving. When we leave and go somewhere else, those patterns COME WITH US. So we CAN'T make our move and figure out our next steps without ALSO working on ourselves. Without also becoming the person who is happy.
The truth (part 2):
- the more you go easy on yourself, the easier it will be.
- the more you take action, the easier it will be.
- the more you love yourself, the easier it will be.
Start. Start small. It gets easier.
Much love.
- Paul
