Difficult Decision Difficulties πŸ˜”πŸ‡

Often, difficult decisions are most difficult before they’re made. This is when our mind runs in all directions. The mind considers everything, and starts catastrophizing. 😨

I remember when I was learning CBT (as a patient), I learned that catastrophizing was a key part of my anxiety.

I focused on how things would turn out for the worst. 😞

It became a habit.

And it meant my mind raced down ALL the rabbit πŸ‡ holes.

There’s an alternative.

Once you’ve made a difficult decision, you get to focus on just the rabbit hole in front of you.

The hardest part of this is not making the decision (i.e. choosing a rabbit hole), it’s MAKING the decision (i.e. giving yourself permission to ignore the other rabbit holes and not second guess yourself).

To really commit.

When you’ve committed to just your rabbit hole, you get to focus on only your next step. πŸ‘Ÿ

And the decision may not seem so difficult in retrospect. 😊
