Difficult Decision Difficulties ππ
Often, difficult decisions are most difficult before theyβre made. This is when our mind runs in all directions. The mind considers everything, and starts catastrophizing. π¨
β
I remember when I was learning CBT (as a patient), I learned that catastrophizing was a key part of my anxiety.
β
I focused on how things would turn out for the worst. π
β
It became a habit.
β
And it meant my mind raced down ALL the rabbit π holes.
β
Thereβs an alternative.
β
Once youβve made a difficult decision, you get to focus on just the rabbit hole in front of you.
β
The hardest part of this is not making the decision (i.e. choosing a rabbit hole), itβs MAKING the decision (i.e. giving yourself permission to ignore the other rabbit holes and not second guess yourself).
β
To really commit.
β
When youβve committed to just your rabbit hole, you get to focus on only your next step. π
β
And the decision may not seem so difficult in retrospect. π
