76ers - Don't confuse movement with progress πŸ€

I was reading an article yesterday about the Toronto Raptors and their preparations for the next season. The author was analyzing each of the eastern conference competitors. He talked about the Philadelphia 76ers and all the moves they made, and about how they might not be any better despite the moves. πŸ€

He then talked a job where he wasn't that busy but he did his best to look busy. His boss had warned him: "Don't confuse movement with progress."

He drew on his boss for inspiration for his analysis of the 76ers. He said: "Don't confuse movement with progress."

Recently I was talking with a friend about todo lists. This friend is the plan-and-execute type. He spends his time getting shit done.

But he doesn't think that much about the long term. He's always doing whatever's in front of him without really turning his mind to the future.

It's the same idea - "don't confuse movement with progress."

He's making lots of movement, but without an eye on his long term goals, he has no idea if he's making progress.

Hell, without knowing his long terms goals, he can't know if he's making progress.

What is one long term goal you're clear on?
