"Should I do things my friends suggest for money? Like eat an egg yolk for $5?" πŸ₯šπŸ”

When I decided I was going to leave law, I knew that I had to commit to the entire package. I couldn't just commit to leaving, maintain the status quo, and hope that everything would go the way I wanted it to.

Instead, I spent some time sitting down and imagining what the Paul who had the courage to leave law would actually look like. How would he live, what would he do ....

What would he believe?

The first thing that popped up was that I knew I wanted to be giving back. Not just to anyone either. I had a pretty rough go in school, and so I wanted to be talking with school-age kids. I wasn't sure what I wanted it to look like, I just knew that that was the right direction.

Next thing I know I'm connected with Mentoring Junior Kids Organization (MJKO) and I'm speaking with the kids during summer camp. And man, were my expectations exceeded.

MJKO is a youth charity out of Parkdale which uses leadership (and sometimes boxing πŸ₯Š) to promote positive and healthy lifestyle choices for kids here.

The kids were engaged. They asked questions. They challenged me. They were full of life. πŸ’™πŸ§‘

My favourite question was the one about eating raw eggs up top. But they also wanted to know about stress, studying, and doing taxes. πŸ’² Full of life indeed.

So, two questions for you:

1. What's one piece of advice you'd love to give to your school-age self?

2. What's one place in your life where you've committed but not to the entire package
