Being "that guy" π€
Normally, when I hear people talk about "that guy", it's a bad thing. Nobody wants to be "that guy" at the party who drank just a bit too much and is obnoxiously missing all the social cues they're getting π΅ (that's never been me, no).
π
Or "that guy" at the gym who hogs the squat rack to do barbell curls with an empty barbell (also never been me, for reals, although I've had to wait for this guy to finish so I could do my squats π‘ποΈββοΈ ).
But every now and then the universe throws a curve ball, and "that guy" looks different.
I got an email from a former client recently with the subject line: "that guy". This is what it said:
I just wanted to say that today (just for a moment) I feel like that guy I wanted to be when I described my ideal person. Thanks for that. I hope you have as great a day as Iβm having. Make sure you enjoy the weather too, because itβs absolutely perfect.
This guy was focused on being "that guy", but for him, "that guy" was the guy who he WANTED to be. The one who was kind, compassionate, even-keeled, and a general positive influence on those in his life.
Do you want to be that guy?
I do.
Most days I am.
And we all can be. The first two steps are awareness and intention:
Who ARE you?
And who do you WANT to be?
Until next time, dream big, and live bigger. Peace.
