100% reason to remember the name 🦚

You can’t be upset
With the results you didn’t get
For the work you didn’t do

– Jim Kwik

Or, to quote Fort Minor from the song Remember the Name:

This is ten percent luck
Twenty percent skill
Fifteen percent concentrated power of will
Five percent pleasure
Fifty percent pain
And a hundred percent reason to remember the name

What's the common thread?

Showing up.

We gotta show up. We gotta pull on our boots and walk out the door. You miss 100% of the shots you don't take is totally cliche, but that doesn't mean it's not true.

What stops us from stepping onto the court and taking a shot?

Fear that it might NOT go in.

And what that might say about us.

More insidious is the fear that it might GO IN.

And what that might say about us.

Often the fear of success is harder to deal with than the fear of failure. We know the status quo, and change (even good change) is always uncertain, and uncertainty is almost always scary.

If you can give yourself the identity of someone who shows up regardless...

Regardless of fear...

Regardless of inertia...

Regardless of lack of clarity...

You're going to build for yourself the future and the identity that you want.
