Is confidence about more than believing in yourself?

From a practical perspective (ie. how it actually shows up in your life), I wonder if confidence is more than just about having a belief in yourself that you can do things.

Confident people go out there and dare. They try new things, they take chances, they set themselves up for the possibility of failure, knowing that greater rewards await those who can tolerate and take risk. Most people, when they say that they want more confidence, they're talking about wanting more of that.

But you know who else falls in that camp? People who aren't worried. People who aren't worried about the outcome. People who trust that no matter how this turns out, everything will work out just fine (if not great).

In that sense, you don't necessarily need to believe you can do it, you just need to believe that it will work out either way.

Confidence may also just be the absence of worry.

What do you think? This is something I'm thinking through and would love other POVs on...
