You want ME to share my CROISSANT?? πŸ₯πŸ₯πŸ₯πŸ˜’

This past Sunday, we got treats. Megan and Ro picked up croissants for the family. Ro arrived home covered in crumbs. Croissant obviously gone.

I saved mine.

Tuesday evening I decide I want to eat my croissant. I pop it into the toaster oven to heat it up (side note: do you do this? If not, you must try.)

But then I didn't get to it until Ro was in the kitchen eating his bedtime snack.

Those of you with kids know that it can be a bit dicey, eating treats around kids unless they're getting some too. But we only had the croissant for me, and I didn't want to share.

But obviously I need to eat it while it's still warm, so I'm in a bit of a pickle.

πŸ€”πŸ€”πŸ˜Ÿ

I decide I need to eat it, and so I'm standing in the corner risking furtive bites whenever I think he isn't looking.

Is that weird? Maybe.

Or maybe it's normal. Either way, when Megan told me that I should just go sit down, that Ro knows he's had his croissant - I felt a little foolish.

He looked at it, then up at me. "Dadda, you have a croissant?"

"Yeah, it's the one you and momma got for me."

"Oh."

And then he runs off to play.

First, I was impressed. Instead of a breakdown, I received maturity. You never know what someone is capable of until you give them a chance.

Second, I realized I WANTED to share. So I called him over, and the two of us split the rest of it.

It made me wonder, where do I need to give myself a chance to find out what I'M capable of?

And also, where else am I being selfish when I would rather be generous?

What about you?
